In January of 2012 I moved to Houston after accepting a faculty position at Houston Community College - Central. To say that the ensuing six months were packed is more than an understatement; it's down-right hyperbole. In addition to the new job - a perfect fit, incidentally - I gave birth to my second son in April (3 weeks early and 1 week before classes ended!) and bought my first house in a cute little barrio between Houston and Katy.
I'm now much more established both at home and at work. This year I'm once again focusing on my research in sound studies and Chican@ and American Indian literatures and working to expand Mexican American studies at HCC.
This blog serves to track developments and musings on these last two projects in particular.
